Additional DetailsThe sky aflame at the close of day dominates Jackson Henley’s magisterial painting, The Prayer. Light seems to beckon parishioners to gather at the old adobe church in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico. “This,” the artist says, “is the first and last New Mexico—old Mexico blended with Pueblo Indians—the land, the architecture, its very soul is constant.” This lot is illustrated in The Story of Leanin' Tree on page 393. A copy of the Leanin’ Tree post card that features this art work will accompany this lot.
