Additional Details

J.K. Ralston was born in a log home in Montana in 1896. His father drove cattle. Ralston devoted his career to the West, saying, “I worked as a cowboy for the old Seventy-Nine Ranch, the CK, the F Bar, and others. I lived and talked with men who came over the trail in the 1880’s. I saw the curtain rung down on the last of the old-time range business in Montana. I have made it my lifework to try and make the West live again in pictures.” A copy of the Leanin’ Tree greeting card that features this art work will accompany this lot. This lot is illustrated in The Story of Leanin’ Tree on page 185. A copy of the book will accompany this lot
