Additional Details

One of the architects of contemporary Western painting and sculpture, Fred Fellows grew up in Oklahoma, in close proximity to the Otoe and Osage peoples and also spent time in California as a saddle maker, cowboy, rodeo rider, and commercial artist. A member of the CAA since 1968, Fellows is perhaps best known for the movement he imparts to his figures and for capturing the drama, even in moments of stillness. This lot is illustrated in The Story of Leanin’ Tree on page 311. A copy of the book will accompany this lot
