Best known for paintings such as Trail Dust and Rites of Passage that place horses at the center of the history of the American West, Emilie Touraine, who called Scottsdale her home for twenty years, called her efforts “Symbolic Americana,” as she traveled the West in search of subject matter. This lot is illustrated in The Story of Leanin' Tree on page 152. A copy of the Leanin’ Tree greeting card that features this art work will accompany this lot.
